Please remember in your prayers this weekend

Br Mike Taylor CSsR
who will make his
Perpetual Profession
on Monday the 24th of August 2020 at 5pm
in Bishop Eton Monastery, Liverpool L16

The following day
the Feast of Blessed Dominic Methodius Trcka CSsR
25th August 2020
Br Mike will be ordained to the Diaconate by
Bishop Ralph Heskett CSsR.

Hold him in prayer as he makes this wonderful commitment.
Also please pray for Zimbabwe.
The Bishops of Zimbabwe recently wrote a letter critical of the Government

“Fear runs down the spine of many of our people today.

The crackdown on dissent is unprecedented. Is this the Zimbabwe we want?

To have a different opinion does not mean to be an enemy.

It is precisely from the contrast of opinions that the light comes.

Our Government automatically labels anyone thinking differently

as an enemy of the country: that is an abuse,”

Zimbabwe Catholic Bishops Conference said.

The country and its wonderful people need our prayers!

Fr Tim CSsR Golden Jubilee of Priesthood...

"I think special occasions always evoke a mixture of emotions.

However, as I approach my Golden Jubilee of Ordination, the overwhelming feeling is one of gratitude and I look forward to celebrating that in the best possible way with the great prayer of thanksgiving that is the Eucharist. Our special Feast of the Most Holy Redeemer falls this weekend and provides me with a wonderful opportunity once again to ask the Lord to heal the hurt I have caused others and myself. The future for all of us is in God’s hands, so I invite you to join me in praying that together we may continue to love and support one another in every possible way, recognising that because Christ has redeemed the world, we are already temples of God’s Spirit, children of the Father, adopted brothers and sisters of the Lord."

Apologies for Poetic Muse

Who's still inclined to Covid Snooze!

Nonetheless, we wish for you

A Day of Joy, "A Confreres' Do",

Memories, laughter, celebratory drink

(Observed within The Rule - we think!).

But, most of all, recall of Special Day,

When first shone forth incipient ray,

Which changed your life, and ours as well,

With dreams, triumphs and tales to tell.

Renaissance Man - so many parts -

We hold you close within our hearts,

Dear Father Tim!

Feast of Saint James Mass on line...

I recommend watching a beautiful Mass of the Feast which has been said by the Redemptorist priest and bible scholar, Fr Denis McBride CSsSR. Redemptorist Publications

Prayers are offered for pilgrims everywhere and the pilgrim associations which serve them. Fr Denis’s sermon is outstanding and the mass concludes with the Botafumeiro.

Best wishes from Santiago on this Feast Day which is like no other! Johnnie Walker
