Provincial's Letter and Appointments in Zimbabwe...

16th February, 2018

Dear Confreres,

They devoted themselves to the teaching of the apostles and to the communal life, to the breaking of bread and the prayers. Acts 2.42

Thank you for your characteristic hospitality during my visit here and for your openness in accepting appointments. I have already written to you about the appointment of Fr. Raymond Mupandasekwa as Bishop of Chinhoyi - and we shall celebrate together with Bishop Ralph and Fr. Richard Reid, our Vicar on April i h This has necessitated changes in the structure of the Region. We have sought the necessary permission from the General Government and from the local Ordinary.

The ORC had already made the attached appointments and communicated them to the OPC in London who confirmed them. However, a few words of clarification may be helpful.

Benjamin Posvo succeeds Raymond Mupandasekwa as Regional Leader. He was already the Regional Vicar and had received the second highest nominations for the post of Regional. Having checked with Rome about the canonical implication, Fr. General has blessed the appointment of Benjamin as Region Leader, as does the OPC of the London Province.

We shall use the word "Leader" rather than "Administrator" at both Regional and local levels as it gives a greater sense of stability. The canonical Superior continues to be the Provincial Superior of the London Province.

The Province asked for assistance from the Region in terms of an assistant priest for Clapham after David Raju retuned to India, and the Region has kindly offered the services of Caspar Mukabva who has graciously accepted to begin the process of obtaining a visa.

Several others have gone on study leave or are on mission elsewhere, and we are grateful for their diligence and look forward to welcoming them back to the Region.

With prayers for the continued growth and development of the Region.

In Christ the Redeemer,

Ronald McAinsh, C.Ss.R.

Provincial Superior
