A trip to Ireland...

The formation community of the London Province recently visited our confreres of the Dublin Province, as well as our Redemptoristine Sisters. The two Provinces often work closely on retreats, parish missions and novenas, as well as in formation, so this was a very welcome opportunity to renew old friendships and to make new ones.

The Redemptorist of the Future...

This piece was found when someone was sorting his notes out -

it is a good article for meditation...

The Redemptorist that we want for the future needs to be a man who:

has a grateful memory, indeed a Eucharistic memory, treasuring all the good he has received from God and treasuring his heritage,

a man who truly believes in the "Plentiful Redemption",

therefore a man who trusts in God and entrusts himself to God,

is filled with the love of God, and joins God in his love to people

is convinced that all are called to fulness of life, to holiness,

therefore is able to gratefully discover his own inner resources and to help other to do so,

is free for God and therefore free to love and serve others and to help them to the same freedom,

able to discover ever better the dimensions of freedom, and faithfulness and committed to the freedom and liberation of all,

he realises that, and how inner and outer freedom and commitment to liberation is essential for serving God's kingdom,

he has acquired freedom from narrowness and anguish, free to discover the signs of the times and the present needs of others,

he is a man of community, co-humanity and co-responsibility,

he is willing to take his share in responsibililty and risk,

he gives prime attention to the good in himself and in others and therefore has the courage to face life's troubles and shades.
