CSsR RYM Advent Retreat...

'Living in Hope' : Waiting Watching & Wondering
www cssr15

Well well well.... we have just had the most blessed and special weekend for our RYM Advent Retreat at Hawkstone Hall in rural Shropshire.

Entitled 'Living in Hope: Waiting, Watching & Wondering' - the weekend retreat held on 4-6 December attracted 18 young adults from all over the country and all 3 RYM Young Adult Groups were represented.

It was a special gathering of those from Liverpool, London & Birmingham, many of whom attend our regular young adult groups.

We welcomed many new people for their first experience of an RYM Retreat and it was lovely to welcome faces old and new and see them mix together in such a wonderful spirit of unity, hope and prayer.

The weekend was a real chance for us all to come together and enter more fully into the season of Advent and also to prepare in a meaningful way for the coming of Christ at Christmas.

It was also an opportunity for us to gather to pray together, to take time out individually from the hustle and bustle of life before Christmas, to have fun and to reflect on the true meaning of this special time of year.www cssr12

If you are aged 18-35 and fancy a retreat before Christmas why not consider the Redemptorist Youth Ministry Advent Retreat.

God of Surprises - A thought for the day...

THOUGHT FOR THE DAY:

'The God of Surprises'

Most of us tend to live lives which are packed full of routine and which follow set daily patterns. We often rise in the morning at the same time; we may have the same cereal for breakfast; or we may visit the same coffee shop before work each morning. With our faith and prayer lives - many of us also follow certain routines when it comes to the prayers we recite or the way in which we worship.

We all have our little daily rituals and habits which indeed help us cope with the demands of our busy lives. They make us feel ordered, in control, safe and secure! We need this important element of order in our lives to function effectively and to prevent us from becoming 'overwhelmed' by the hectic and challenging nature of life!

FLAME 2 at Wembley!...

How is it possible to try and describe what was a fantastic day of joy, praise, and prayer?

We were joined by 8,000 young people who had come along like us to 'celebrate with joy the mercy of God.'

Do you wonder why, as a Catholic, you do some of the things that you do? Have you ever found yourself unable to answer basic questions about what you believe and why you believe it?The Survival Guide for Young Catholics will tell you a bunch of stuff that you might already know and a lot more that you probably don’t. You won’t get long, boring answers. Instead you will get quick-fire, straight up answers that any parent or pope would be proud to hear. So prepare for an overview of the Catholic faith that is sure to leave you a little smarter, a lot more confident and the envy of your fellow Catholics.

The SSE Wembley Arena will be filled with 10,000 young people from across the country, receiving faith-filled inspiration from world class speakers. Speakers include
Cardinal Luis Tagle from Manila, Philippines; Baroness Sheila Hollins; Fr Timothy Radcliffe OP; and David Wells.

RYM back for another year...

RYM is back for another year - and 2015 looks like a busy and exciting 12 months!

Towards end of 2014 I started a Young Adult Group in our Redemptorist parish of St Mary's, Clapham in London!

So now RYM is based in 3 cities - Liverpool, Birmingham and London! After just 2 years we have developed the ministry nicely and there is undoubtedly a great need for young people to come together to share, learn about and discuss their faith!
