RYM Retreat in Kinnoull Monastery, Perth...

Paul Murphy, Our Youth Officer shares some reflections...

A really special weekend with the most wonderful group of friends at our Redemptorist retreat in Perth - 'From Being Called to Being Sent' rym retreat feb 17iirym retreat feb 17i

A great time of delving deeper into our faith with focus on praying with scripture and reflecting on our call to evangelise and share our faith with others!

We spent time discussing extracts from Evangelii Gaudium while looking at the life of St Peter and his call to 'follow Jesus'.

A joy to be with such an amazing group who gelled so well and so quickly! Some of our discussions in small and larger groups were incredible! The depth and insight young people have is quite remarkable!

Mountain-top moments of the weekend for me included the opportunity for real silence, the chance to really listen to God, and to reawaken our response to His call for each one of us. Also last night we showed our love and mercy for one another by 'washing one another's feet' just as Jesus did to his disciples! A really humbling moment!rym retreat feb17

Above all it was the chance to be together, to support one another, to learn from one another, and to encourage one another to perservere in responding to the mission of the Church.rym retreat feb 17iii

We are each called by God but we are also being sent to 'go make disciples of all nations'  our daily lives! We are challenged to be evangelisers!rym retreat feb 17ivrym retreat feb 17vi

Thanks to everyone who came and made this retreat weekend such a spirit-filled experience!rym retreat feb 17vii
