Pray for your Priests...

As Priests all over the world are renewing their Priestly committment and vows, let us pray for them in every part of our world.

Let us give thanks to God for them and their ministry.

Let us ask the Lord to inspire more men to say yes to the Sacerdotal call.

Let us also with our Holy Father, Pope Leo, pray for priests who at the moment are struggling for whatever reason.

God bless us all!

Pope Leo prays:

In the name of the Father, and of the Son, and of the Holy Spirit. Amen.

Lord Jesus,
Good Shepherd and companion on the journey,
today we place in your hands all priests,
especially those going through moments of crisis,
when loneliness weighs heavily,
when doubt clouds their hearts,
and when exhaustion seems stronger than hope.

You who know their struggles and wounds,
renew in them the certainty of your unconditional love.

Let them feel they are not mere functionaries or lonely heroes,
but beloved sons, humble and cherished disciples,
and pastors sustained by the prayer of their people.

Good Father,
teach us as a community to care for our priests:
to listen without judging,
to give thanks without demanding perfection,
to share with them the baptismal mission
of proclaiming the Kingdom in word and deed,
and to accompany them with closeness and sincere prayer.
May we support those who so often support us.

Holy Spirit,
rekindle in our priests the joy of the Gospel.

Grant them healthy friendships, networks of fraternal support,
a sense of humour when things don't go as expected,
and the grace to always rediscover the beauty of their vocation.

May they never lose trust in You,
nor the joy of serving your Church with a humble and generous heart.

Amen.

Bishop of Hallam 2014 - 2026

Fr Provincial wrote to the
Province of London and the Region of Zimbabwe the other day,

By now you will all know the news which came from Rome at midday today, that being, Pope Leo XIV has accepted Bishop Ralph’s resignation from Office of Bishop of Hallam, on health grounds.

We all know that for more than a decade and a half, Bishop Ralph has wholeheartedly served as a Bishop, first of all as Bishop of Gibraltar (2010 - 2014) and then as Bishop of Hallam (2014 - 2026) here in England.

I say with confidence that Bishop Ralph has been a tremendous Redemptorist Bishop, and we have all been proud of him, and still are to this day.

Let us pray for Bp Ralph as he begins this new chapter of his life.

Peace,

Richard Reid CSsR
Provincial Superior

In the words of the Bishop Ralph Heskett CSsR himself.

“For almost twelve years it has been my immense privilege and joy to serve as your shepherd. I am deeply grateful to the Lord for each of you
– my brother priests who have shared the burdens of the flock;
the deacons, religious, and consecrated persons whose witness inspires us all;
and you, the lay faithful,
whose holiness in ordinary life builds up the Body of Christ.”

Let us pray for Bishop Ralph Heskett CSsR in his retirement
and for Bishop Marcus Stock who is now the Apostolic Administrator.

CSsR Confreres and LCBL Sisters...

A meeting with 'old' friends!

The Mother General of the LCBL Sisters from Zimbabwe, and the Sr Superior from their one and only community outside Zimbabwe, here in England in Carlisle, came to St Mary's monastery, Clapham to visit their old friends the Redemptorists.

What a joy to have Sr Veronica (Mother General) and Sr Elizabeth (Superior) with us for such a quick but blessed visit.

Sr Veronica was unanilously elected as Mother General in August last year. She spoke of her utter shock and disbelief that such an office should fall on her. Fr Richard, who worked with Sr Veronica back in 2008/2009 said that he was not at all surprised, he had even predicted it all those year ago!

Please pray for this wonderful Congregation in Zimbabwe and their, relatively, new community in Carlise!

Cardinal Tobin, along with the bishops of the USA, calls for respect for the dignity of migrants...

Archbishop Bernard Hebda, second from left, gives a few remarks at the end of the Votive Mass of Solidarity with Migrants Feb. 27 at the University of St. Thomas in St. Paul, Minn. Joining him were, from left, Father Christopher Collins, vice president for mission at St. Thomas, Cardinal Robert McElroy of Washington, D.C., Archbishop Christophe Pierre, apostolic nuncio to the United States, and Cardinal Joseph Tobin of Newark, New Jersey.

Against the abolition of jus soli decided by the Trump administration, which would exclude from US citizenship the children of people without legal status or with temporary permits (study or work) present in the country, the United States Conference of Catholic Bishops has spoken out clearly and precisely, through Cardinal Joseph William Tobin CSsR, Archbishop of Newark this Friday, February 27, after the “Votive Mass of Solidarity with Migrants”, celebrated in the chapel of the University of St. Thomas, in Saint Paul, capital of Minnesota, at the close of the conference The Way Forward, which brought together some thirty prelates to talk about communication and evangelization in the digital age.

The bishops have called the measure eliminating jus soli “immoral.” It is worth noting that jus soli (Latin for “right of the soil”) is the legal principle that grants citizenship to any person born in a country, regardless of their parents’ citizenship. Unlike jus sanguinis(based on descent), this right is fully applied in the United States and partially in some European countries.

As reported by The Catholic Spirit, the official newspaper of the Archdiocese of Saint Paul and Minneapolis, Cardinal Christophe Pierre, the Apostolic Nuncio to the United States, echoing the “firm declaration” made by the bishops in support of migrants during their November assembly and the backing received from Leo XIV, stated that he was “personally very proud to see our Church on the side of those who suffer.”

After Mass, speaking to reporters, Cardinal Tobin, also responding to a question, defended the Church’s numerous positions on migrants: “To whom do we owe our ultimate loyalty, our ultimate obedience? The first commandment tells us: Do not worship false gods. Listen to the Lord your God.” It is in this context that the decision of the Episcopal Conference to appeal to the Supreme Court against the Trump administration’s abolition of birthright citizenship should be understood. They also spoke critically about the methods used by Immigration and Customs Enforcement (ICE) against defenceless people.

World Apostolic Congress of Mercy - Vilnius, Lithuania...

 vilnius june 2026

Redemptorists from Lithuania share an invitation to take part in the

World Apostolic Congress of Mercy

From June 7–12, 2026,

Vilnius will host the

6th World Apostolic Congress of Mercy (WACOM 6)

— a global gathering to proclaim and witness the message of Divine Mercy, love, and hope for the world.

What to expect:

✅ Inspiring talks by Cardinal Grzegorz Ryś (Archbishop of Kraków), Fr. James Mallon, Nicky Gumbel, Matt Fradd, and more!

✅ Prayer, adoration, Holy Mass, and cultural celebrations

✅ Workshops, missions, and testimonials

✅ A special evening of worship and intercessory prayer led by the Redemptorists and their partners

Why Vilnius? Vilnius is a city deeply rooted in mercy—home to St. Faustina Kowalska and Blessed Fr. Michał Sopoćko, where the first Image of Merciful Jesus was painted, and the Chaplet of Divine Mercy was revealed. The Redemptorists will play a key role in prayers, adoration, and a workshop on the Missionaries of Mercy ministry.

Archbishop Gintaras Grušas invites you: “Let’s meet at the Congress in Vilnius—the city chosen by God so that through Saint Faustina and Blessed Michael Sopocko, the world would be reminded of His Mercy.”
