The Nativity of the Blessed Virgin Mary

CSsR Albania...

The following letter was received today from one of our confreres in Albania who sent a report of work being completed as part of their parish work - they have renovated a building and made a new chapel.

The faith is strong in Albania.

Please pray for the Redemptorists and the Church in Albania.

Dear Father,

RICHARD REID CSSR

Thank you again, Father, and the Redemptorist Brothers from your unit, for your help and support.

A year ago, I asked for support for our village of Luz.

The work took us some time, but the most important tasks have been completed. Thanks to your help, we were able to improve the building and thus unite the community of believers.

With the money we received, we were able to complete the following projects:

  • repair the plaster and paint the exterior of the chapel
  • paint and clean the interior of the chapel, sacristy, and catechism room
  • replace the entrance door
  • repair the windows
  • improve the gutters and water drainage
  • purchase an electric grass cutter.

Most of the work was done by parishioners and young people. It was a good opportunity for mobilization and deeper involvement.

I am sending a few photos, although the most important thing, which is in the hearts of the parishioners, cannot be captured by a camera, but we believe that these are seeds of hope.

Thank you again and we assure you of our prayers.

Fr Andrzej Michoń CSsR

Public Calls for Information...1st September 2025

We regularly carry out a ‘public call for information’. These are opportunities for anybody with information to share with us, ahead of our inspections, to come forward in a safe way. We will assess whatever Information about safeguarding comes in to us, and it may directly contribute to our audits and inspections of dioceses and religious life groups.

If you have information to share, you can remain anonymous, or you can arrange to talk with us if you prefer.

The public calls for information are for anybody with information to share which may help improve safeguarding and prevent harm. You may be a survivor, a lay employee, a parishioner, or a volunteer, or have a different role.

If you are a survivor of abuse in the Catholic church, we recognise what a difficult step this may be for you. For some, it may be traumatising. Support is available. We thank you for your courage.

Leo XIV urges Moral Theologians keep St Alphonsus as model...

day 7 alphonsus tomb

The telegram sent by Cardinal Secretary of State Pietro Parolin, on behalf of Pope Leo XIV, to participants at the 17th International Congress of Moral Theology, held in Bogota, Colombia, from August 20 to August 21, 2025.

Pope Leo XIV asks moral theologians to follow the example of St. Alphonsus Liguori and other saints as they reflect on the “challenges, changes, and conflicts” of the modern world in the light of divine revelation.

In his message to the 17th International Congress of Moral Theology, Pope Leo XIV encourages participants to approach modern moral issues “following the wise and always timely example of the Saints, such as Saint Alphonsus Maria de Liguori.”

Known as the Doctor of Moral Theology, Saint Alphonsus

“was able to find a balanced synthesis of the laws of God and the dynamics of man’s conscience and freedom, at the same time assuming a charitable, understanding, and patient attitude towards his brethren, thus becoming a visible sign of God’s infinite mercy,” the Pope said.

The message to the Congress was conveyed in a telegram signed by Cardinal Secretary of State Pietro Parolin. The Holy Father expressed his hopes that the event “might provide a favourable opportunity to reflect on the challenges, changes, and current conflicts in the light of divine revelation, which finds its fulness in Jesus Christ.”

The Pope’s message concluded with the invocation of “the maternal protection of the Blessed Virgin Mary, Seat of Wisdom,” along with the Pope’s Apostolic Blessing for participants and their loved ones.
