Mass with a "Living Martyr"...

The Provincial had the privilege and the honour of being inited to concelebrate Holy Mass with the 98 year old Cardinal of Albania in Westminister Cathedral.

Pope Francis called him a "living martyr" after hearing of his imprisonment and torure over many years.

Let us pray for the country of Albania and the people who try and live as Disciple of Jesus Christ.

Let us also pray in thanksgiving for the amazing people like Cardinal Ernest Simoni Troshani who have held on to the faith despite everything else.

Please pray for our Redemptorist community in Albania, in a town called Kamez.

"Cardinal Ernest Simoni Troshani’s life is a remarkable testimony to faith, forgiveness and perseverance having spent eighteen years in jail at the hands of Albanian communists, during which time he endured torture and harsh conditions that continued even after his release.

International Safeguarding Conference 2026 - Rome...

Fr Richard Reid CSsR., Provincial Superior reports,

"The Pontifical Gregorian University played host to approximately 300 people from all around the world. In one of the Working Groups the nationalities were as follows: Romania, UK, El Salvador, Germany, Nigeria, Chile, Norway, Brazil, USA, Philippines, Holland, Singapore, Denmark, Poland, Switzerland, France, Austria, India, Portugal, Uganda and Canada.

The large group was then welcomed by the

Rector of the Gregorian, Fr Mark Lewis SJ,

the Chair of the Conference, Mrs Tina Campbell,

(our CSsR London Province Safeguarding Consultant)

there was then an opening speech delivered by H.E. Cardinal Luis Tagle,

and then Fr Hans Zoller SJ spoke about Safeguarding and Culture.

The Little Sisters of the Poor come to our Parish in Clapham...

Recently the Little Sisters of the Poor, in the person of Sr Monica LSP and two Association of Jeanne Jugan, came to our Redemptorist Church, the Parish of St Mary's to speak briefly about their work. It was a real joy having them in the Parish and the Community. The Little Sisters do tremendous work for the elderly and we know this especially as some of our confreres have breathed their last with the dear Sisters.

I had the privilege of directing courses at the international Redemptorist pastoral centre, Hawkstone Hall, for 21 years. Over the passage of that time I listened to many priests, Religious, and lay people who came into my office for a chat. Many wanted to talk about an issue that perplexed them; some wanted to unburden themselves of secrets carried for too long; some just popped in, apparently, for a natter. Over the years what fascinated me was how the conversations began. Talk started about the weather, the recent news, the lovely view out the window to the wandering sheep, even delight in the colour of the curtains. Time went by, and then some more. After a little while, I would press my guest to ask: “Is there anything I can help you with?”

Zimbabwe Regional Celebrations post Ordinations...

The Region gathered a few days after the Ordinations and had a community Mass celebrated by all the newly ordained priests. It was a glorious thing to see our priestly confreres together at the altar.
